New York Fashion Week Beauty Trends

This fall is all about the long sleek back ponytail and the cute messy bun. However, it looks like they might not be making a come back next season. One of the most prominent hair trends  and a PrettyQuick favorite for S2013  is the Deep Side Part. Designers such as Max Azria, Rachel Comey, Altuzurra and Yigal Azrouël all seem to have parted ways with last season’s popular sleek back style. NYFW was all about cleaner styles paired with deep side parts that added an air of modern elegance to the runway.

CAN YOU PART DEEP?

What we like about this look is that it has a mature feel to it. Overall, it is work appropiate but it is still fresh and chic. Changing the way you part your hair can instantly change your look! But the best part is that there is 0 commitment involved! So, if you are curious, go for it!

Here are some PrettyQuick tips to help you decide how and when to use a deep side part.

Curly Hair

If you have curly hair I would advice you to part the hair while is still wet and brush it a couple of times so it stays in place. Parting curly hair can be very tricky depending on your curls and texture, personally I like how mine look with a middle part but I might try the side part myself. When it comes to up-dos, I love how curly hair looks in a messy bun but I wouldn’t discourage you from trying a low bun with a side part for a different look.

Thin Hair

A side part can be a great way to add some volume and body to you hair! Paired with some layers this can be an amazing new look for you!

PQ Tip: Your part can bring attention to a particular part of your face so if you are not happy with your nose a side part is a great way to take the focus off that particular area!
